24th & Glory Book Signing With Dirk Chatelain

August 2 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

24th & Glory: The Intersection of Civil Rights and Omaha’s Greatest Generation of Athletes tells the story behind one incredible neighborhood that produced so many world-class athletes in the 1950s and 1960s. Author Dirk Chatelain —the 2017 and 2018 first-place winner of the Associated Press Sports Editors contest for project reporting and a 5-time Nebraska sports writer of the year — spent 13 years conducting oral interviews and doing exhaustive research for the series and book. Hear the stories he uncovered and meet some of the athletes featured in the book.  We will have books for sale for $19.95 and a display of photos and athletes from North Omaha.
