Adam L. Burton

Reverend Adam Burton dedicated a lifetime of service to the North Omaha community. Prior to living in Omaha, Mr. Burton served as pastor for the Air Force at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana, part of a 21-year career in the Air Force. In 1986, the Rev. Adam Burton became the pastor and leader for St. Mark Baptist Church, located northeast of 36th Avenue and Spaulding Street. For over 30 years, Mr. Burton served as pastor of the church, touching countless number of people along the way. Mr. Burton also previously served on the City of Omaha Mayor’s Clergy Advisory Board and did mission work with the Haiti Outreach Ministry. Mr. Burton passed away in January of 2016. This commemorative designation would honor the Reverend in front of St. Mark Baptist Church.
