John E. Mitchell Sr.

After having served in many capacities under Bishop C.A. Timmons at Mid-West Tabernacle of Deliverance Church of God in Christ, Pastor John E. Mitchell Sr. established the Tabernacle of Faith Church of God in Christ at a small location at 5309 North 24th Street. Under John’s leadership and vision for the ministry and the North Omaha community, the church was moved to its current location at 2404 Fort Street in 1992. After complete renovation of this former grocery store, Tabernacle of Faith Church of God in Christ now seats over 700 people, has numerous classrooms for training and office space to house several community outreach ministries.
