Jamar Dorsey, Ed.D.
Mr. Jamar L. Dorsey Sr. is a proud product of Omaha, Nebraska. He attended Grambling State University on a full athletic scholarship and earned a Masters degree in Sport Administration. As a professional, he has spent time teaching and coaching in many rural and urban communities in two states: Louisiana and Nebraska. As an educator he is passionate about working with students who are underserved.
Currently, he is the Director of High School Programs for Avenue Scholars Foundation, working with students to ensure careers for students of hope and need through education and supportive relationships.
As the current Director of High School Programs of a non-profit, Avenue Scholars Foundation, Mr. Dorsey now helps at-risk students develop a plan for their lives. The plan includes transportation, housing, education, and career success. He enjoys this new program, and getting at-risk, low performing students to a point where they can succeed is powerful and fuels his fire to work with youth and adults alike.
As a husband, father, mentor, teacher, and career coach Jamar, lives by the quote from Malcolm X: ”Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.”
Jamar is married to Antonia Dorsey and they are the proud parents of Antiana, Robert, Nautika, Jayde and Jamar Jr.
